On The Hunt [Ask in CB before joining]

It was the full moon, mid-summer, and the weather seemed perfect for hunting. And for Alex, that was exactly what he was doing. He had already shifted into his feral form. And unlike any other time that he would have transformed, he had no control of his mind. And it seemed the creatures around his home had learned this long ago and went into hiding, staying silent until the sun shone through the leaves and gave them the relief they needed from the monster.  

But that time was still a long while away. Alex was slowly making his way to the town where he knew their would be people, where there was food. Growling quietly to himself, the rustic red werewolf slowly staggered his way to the closest home he could find. Which belong to a older fellow, in his late thirties, if he was correct. The house was only meant for a small family from the looks. It was a pale shade of tan and the windows around the house said it had maybe two bedrooms, and a single bath. The other rooms not included, it was a nice house. Alex snarled into the air, not loud enough to wake someone, but if they were awake, they would definitely hear him making his way to their home.

Reaching the door, the wild creature seemed to stare at it for a moment as if wondering how to get through. Grabbing the handle of the door, the beast tore the door straight off its hinges before tossing it behind him and making his way toward the scent of his prey. From the silence, he guest his prey was still sound asleep. Lifting his head into the air, Alex sniffed around for a moment until he got his preys scent. But quickly, the creature snarled and growled at the sound of something barking at him. A golden Labrador with slightly curled fur was seemingly upset with him having enter the home. Luckily for the dog, Alex could tell that this was a 'relative' of sorts and would leave him alone if he didn't attack.

Pulling back his lips and showing off his much larger canines; he snarled a warning for it to shut up or it too would die. And quickly the dog whined before running off to hide somewhere were it would be safe. Turning his head back to the room around him, Alex didn't give it much thought as he made his way a crossed the wooden floor. His nails clicking against it with each new step along with a thud of his paw pads hitting after his nails made contact. The creatures ears were perked up in interest as he tail swayed side to side with each new step he took until he reached the stairs. Sniffing to make sure this is were his target was, he growled in pleasure to find that his prey was indeed in this direction. Hunching over, Alex started to go up the stairs on all four before straightening back up into a proud stance once he had reached the top. Huffing, he started toward the bedroom that his prey's scent was strongest, and slowly, he etched the door open further then what it already was.

And there lay his prey, his food.  Pleased, Alex let out a snarl as he loudly made his way over to the being under the sheets and blankets. With him making this much noise, the person obviously awoke only to turn to see what had awaken him. And what he must have been met with was glowing green eyes and many pointed teeth already open and ready to attack. Alex's prey started to scream and shout, maybe pleading or telling him to stay back, but in his state of mind, it only sounded like gibberish. The man had a rifle, sitting next to his bed, just in reached, so obviously, he reached for it. Alex noticed and quickly he snarled loudly, almost roaring for the creature to drop his weapon. And it almost worked considering he scared the creature to freak and fumble with his weapon before finally cocking it and aiming it to fire almost point blank range at the werewolf. And just like that, he fired.

Alex yelped in pain, hunching over and grabbing at his stomach while his other three limbs supported his weight. There was a loud crashing sound when he fell, enough to startle his prey back further in their bed. After a few moments of heavy breathing from both parties, the werewolf stood with a cold and icy glare at the human below him. His lips pulled back and his teeth showing as much as they could while he snapped his jaw shut and open again a few times to show that he was pissed. His stomach was perfectly fine aside from what seemed to be a scuff  in his neat fur. With his ears laid back and he eyes narrowed. Alex lunged for his prey that tried to fire another shot that succeeded in flying past Alex and into the wall behind him instead. And just like that, Alex had the man pined to his bed with his teeth sinking into the flesh of his neck, ending his life slowly and more then likely, painfully.

A few minutes had passed since Alex had killed his prey and he was now feasting on his intestinal. Eating chunks of flesh here and there before digging back into the slimness that was his insides. And next hour seemed to go on just the same until the sound of sirens could be heard approaching in the distance. It would seem that someone had noticed something off, more then likely the torn off front door, but he didn't care at the time. And despite being in his beast like state, his mind knew that that sound meant bad news. So quickly, Alex grabbed what was left of his prey from its upper torso before standing up on his hind legs and making a fast dash for the woods through the window. The glass from the window seemed to echo in his ears as he landed on all four limbs before sprinting off just like any animal would.

After a small sprint, Alex was back in his territory and safely, he dropped his prey near a large patch of dirt where he kept the rest of his stash of bones and left over meats, that had more then likely gone bad by now. Laying down with his prey, he opened his mouth to take a bite but quickly closed it somewhat in turn to growl and snarl at the sounds around him. Something was off, he was being watched and he could hear them. And defensively, he stood over his kill on all fours, his head low in a threatening challenge. Letting out a loud roar in the direction he sensed someone, he waited for them to come out.

Rye had been wandering around the forest, his long body snaking around everything around. His tongue had been flicking in and out, letting him know this was Alex's territory, but after establishing what he felt was a good relationship with the person, he didn't feel threatened on his territory. The scent of a deer was still on him from earlier, when he had be lucky enough to find one injured.

The night time didn't bother him, as there was nothing that could be seen as threatening in it. His ears perked as he heard sirens and tasted blood and wolf on his tongue. Wolves wouldn't be anything the the 40 foot tall male, and definitely nothing compared to his length. It was almost surprising he wasn't tangled around everything he went by.

He walked across the forest floor, following the vibrations he felt though his whiskers and the scent he got from his tongue. He had soon reached the area where the wolf's scent was the strongest, and later heard a growl accompanying it.

Rye slithered out into the open, looking down at the small wolf over his food. He cocked his head, his tongue still slithering in and out without him realizing it. That's how his tongue was most of the time. "Alex?" He asked questioning. He had always smelled the wolf on him from when they first met.

Watching as the large serpent like creature slithered into the open of the field, Alex felt himself tense. This creature was large, much larger then himself so he did not stand a chance. The werewolf was about to snarl another warning at the new animal but it smelt familiar in a way, it smelt like a friend, maybe someone he knew? Sadly for Alex, in is current form, he couldn't think like his normal human counterpart, he only thought like the beast many claimed him to be until the sun rouse to free him.

Easing away from his kill with a low growl, he snapped his jowls a few times before he swiveled his ears forward into a perked, Listening, watching, and studying anything the larger creature did while he moved closer. Alex still had his lips pulled back in a snarl as he moved closer, but he only grumbled lowly in his throat once he was close enough to feel himself become more ridged by the large creatures presence. What was this strange thing and why did it call him Alex? How did he even know it called him Alex?! Nevertheless, Alex rouse to his hind legs to seem larger, maybe more intimidating; as he sniffed the air around the being, it certainly smelled familiar.

But it wasn't a canine from the neighboring pack that was for sure, so where was it friendly smelling. Annoyed, Alex bared his fangs as much as he could and snarled before roaring at the creature. Almost as if he was asking it for answers. His ears were pinned back as his tail swished from side to side in an aggressive manner while he kept his head low and slightly tilted, it was a threat, but also a challenge.

He wanted answers.

Rye watched as Alex growled and snarled at him, but didn't seem threatened at all. He was almost second guessing himself on if it was actually Alex, but the only way it couldn't be was if this thing was around him... a lot... He flicked his tongue out again, definitely tasting the similar scent.

"Alex... Do you not remember? Rye started. He wasn't much of a talker. "When you were... human... we met. I was still in your territory around a rock... but you settled in my coils." He tilted his head, wondering if that would be enough for him to remember with.

Either way, he continued with more. "Also... I protected you. Covered you with my... coils and threatened them when they took you. Then snuck you off too. If his voice, scent, and story didn't convince him of who he was, then it either wasn't Alex, or he'd just forgot.

Listening closely, the werewolf pondered what the creature was saying. It seemed like it was calm, almost sad in the way it sounded when it spoke. It made Alex sad. But why? He didn't know of this creature, or maybe he had and had just forgotten. It would explain a lot now that he thought about it.

No longer baring his fangs; Alex perked his ears forward as his tail continued to thrash behind him in an aggressive manner. He didn't trust this thing but it didn't seem like it wanted to hurt him. In his head, Alex could hear a voice, almost as if it was trying to convince him what his creature was, that it had a name just like himself.

Rye.

Rye? Was that what the creature was? Grumbling to himself, the werewolf dropped back down to all fours before walking back over to his recent kill. Placing his front limbs on the chest of the body, he bit at an arm before tearing it off easily. Dragging the limb back over to the creature, he lifted his head up in an offering. Food, for friendship, easy enough concept. Sitting down on his hunches, he waited for the creature to take the food, growing ever so irritated the longer the creature, the Rye, took to take it.

Rye continued to watch as the wolf seemed to have gotten more calm, not baring his teeth anymore and putting his ears forward. He smiled and started to coil around himself as Alex dropped down on all fours. Slightly relaxing into his coils he watched as the little were brought him a leg. Rye slowly nodded before lowering his head down to the ground.

If the wolf wanted to, he could easily jump up and attack his eyes, but Rye knew he wouldn't. He flicked his tongue out at the warm meat before eating it. Human wasn't one he had often, but it was still food. They were a bit too fatty to be on his regular diet, but an occasional snack of a ruthless one was okay.

Rye lifted his head and tilted it, almost asking if that was good enough. He's came across some real wolves before, them mostly being in packs. Humans were basically huge packs, with strange structures that acted like dens. Some of them were kind, but others were greedy and wanted his hide or eyes for money. Alex was one of those better ones.

Alex was pleased to see the creature take the offering, taking a couple bites before looking at him once more, almost if saying was that enough or if he must eat more. Relaxing more then he had previously, Alex's tail stopped its thrashing of aggression and instead went to a steady and pleased wag while his furry ears relaxed into a content position.

Standing on all fours to creep closer, Alex sniffed ever so cautiously to make sure the creature hadn't tricked him to lured him in closer so he could attack. With each step, the wolf creatures ears drifted farther back, but not in aggression but caution. Once he was close enough to the creatures rather large skull, he sniffed around its cheek before giving it a friendly lick. Perking his ears forward for a moment an taking a step back in case the creature hadn't liked what he did. But still, Alex's tail wagged at a slow pace at he tilted his head back in return to Rye.

Once he had shown he truly meant his friendship, Alex returned to his kill to keep eating, staring and tilting his head every now and then as he stole glances at the 'Rye' creature. The creature would make a great member of his pack should he ever have one.
